Look! A Book!
Celebrating the launch of my first novel
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Friends have been visiting Japan, the semester started up, and I’m still catching my breath after the excitement of launching my debut novel, If the Stars Are Lit, at Eastercon in Belfast, Ireland. The official Luna Press launch was on Saturday, April 19th, and I was lucky to share in the celebrations with Ana Sun, whose work appears in the Luna anthology The Utopia of Us, and Cécile Cristofari, both there to read from a new collection of solarpunk short stories from The Slab Press. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to hear us read, and to Francesca Barbini of Luna Press Publishing for absolutely everything.
If you weren’t at the event, you can watch me talk about the book and do a reading of the same excerpt here on the official Luna Press channel.
It was an all-too-short weekend where I met and reunited with fellow writers and friends from fandoms past and present, drank copious amounts of coffee and the occasional beer, and, as can be expected, slept little.
If you like sapphic love stories set adrift in deep space, think Tarkovsky’s Solaris only gayer (and shorter), I’d be delighted if you added If the Stars Are Lit, available here or wherever books are sold online, to your TBR pile.
